Echo Theatre in Tulsa, Oklahoma held a staged reading of my one-act VERONICA’S DOLLS on April 23, 2017. I’ve finally got a video of the reading.
VERONICA’S DOLLS
A teenage girl’s old dolls come to life to try to save her life when she attempts to commit suicide by swallowing an overdose of sleeping pills. Cast: Four, plus an off-stage voice to make five. Three female, two non-gender. Running time: Fifteen or so minutes.

A suburban costume party goes wrong. The theme is “famous people killed by animals.” Unfortunately, the animals show up, as well. Comically absurd. Cast: Four — two male, two female. Running time: About 15 minutes.

At long last, I have video from the 2015 production of my one-act THE ONE-WORD MACBETH by Pop Culture Theatre of Melbourne, Australia. The show –and the actresses who performed it — won a bunch of award that year in the Victorian Drama League competition. You can find a full list here.
Pop Culture also produced my one-act THE RULES ARE THE RULES ARE THE RULES in the 2017 Victorian Drama League season. Madeline Hardie, who starred here as Macbeth, was in that one, as well.
Meanwhile, THE ONE-WORD MACBETH has gone on to be published by Brooklyn Publishers.

KDC Theatre in London produced my short play GROWN ATTACHED in June as part of an evening of short, scary shows. Here’s the whole production. My piece starts at 22:50 and runs until 26:37.

A young boy got his head stuck between the railings of an old house.Now he’s a teenager, and he’s still stuck there — and his parents are moving out. Sad and funny at the same time. Cast: Two — one adult female, one juvenile male.

SOMEWHERE TONIGHT, THE WASHINGTON SENATORS LAST GAME PLAYS ON
The last game the Washington Senators played – in 1971 – ended in a forfeit, when fans ran out onto the field and one of them stole first base. Now, on the night before a new Washington baseball team takes the field in 2005, the man who stole that base is trying to return it, and gets arrested. He tries to explain to the cop why the base is haunted. Cast: Two males.

My five-minute piece THE RECRUITER was produced in Houston Nov. 9-19, 2016 as part of the 2016 Five Minute Mile Play Festival by Cone Man Running Productions at the Obsidian Theatre. Here’s the video. Earlier I posted some rehearsal photos.
THE RECRUITER
A scene about gender discrimination in college sports. A college recruiter shows up at a rural school asking about a particular football player; oblivious to the softball player banging home runs in batting practice. Cast: Two adult males, one teenage girl.
This is a stand-alone piece, but it’s also part of a collection of short pieces about baseball that make up my full-length play PLAY BALL! Some other individual pieces of that have been produced, as well — “Sunset in North Dakota” and “Deep Into October.”
