The Smith Mountain Lake Arts Council produced my 10-minute play CHEF PIERRE DOES NOT DO SIMPLE on April 2, 2017 at the Bernad’s Landing resort in Scruggs, Virginia.
This marked the fourth production of the script:
CHEF PIERRE DOES NOT DO SIMPLE
A television producer explains to a TV chef that he need to simplify some of his language because many younger viewers do not understand them. He reacts badly and winds up creating a mess with broken eggs and flour. Cast: Four — One male, three non-gender. Running time: Ten minutes.

Staged reading of “Virginia’s Real” in Virginia

Eleven years after it was first produced, my play VIRGINIA’S REAL came back to life with a staged reading at Attic Productions in Fincastle, Virginia on March 4, 2017.
VIRGINIA’S REAL
A Southern family is divided over what to do with the family farm when the patriarch retires. The drama focuses on the farmer’s youngest daughter, a waitress and single mom named Virginia, who is eager to subdivide the farm as a way to make her fortune. Her goal is complicated by the prospect
of a new highway going through the neighborhood – and the discovery of Civil War artifacts on the site. The story deals with a variety of universal themes, but also many topical references, from urbanization of rural areas, the preservation of historical sites, and NASCAR. Cast : 11 – 4 adult females, 3 adult males, 4 female children (two teens, two pre-teens), and one off-stage voice which can be either male or female. Set requirements: Minimal, although at various points you’ll need to create some aspects of a
kitchen and a diner.

The cast of “The Picture Window” in West Virginia

My ten-minute play THE PICTURE WINDOW was produced Feb. 2-4 at Greenbrier Valley Theatre in Lewisburg, West Virginia. It was the second full production of this bittersweet script.
THE PICTURE WINDOW
An old woman’s front window is shattered by a baseball. For her, it’s time to go get the instructions her late husband left her. There’s something special waiting for the kid who could hit a baseball that far. A poignant story about old age and regrets – and baseball. Cast: Three – one male two females.
